Fuzion Leaders Share Expertise at 2022 Intercompany Long-Term Care Insurance Conference

The Intercompany Long-Term Care Insurance Conference (ILTCI) is known as the premier education and networking event for LTCi professionals. This year’s event, held March 20-23 in Raleigh, North Carolina, lived up to that reputation by attracting an estimated 750 attendees who gathered for the first time in person since 2019 to hear from industry experts on topics within 42 breakout sessions. Among those experts were associates from Fuzion, a Diamond sponsor, who spoke on wide-ranging issues involving claims and underwriting; management and operations; and legal, compliance, and regulatory.

Debbie Maas, VP of Communications and Client Engagement, was delighted to speak on a personal passion: Improving the Customer Experience and Distinguishing Your Brand. In addition to providing strategies and tactical tips in these areas, Debbie presented a case study on a policyholder experience challenge that demonstrated the value of research and asking good questions. The session was interactive with good audience engagement including a discussion around what carriers do in the “gap” between the time when they get a new policyholder and the time in which claims payments are made to qualifying policyholders.

Julie Peterson, VP of Operations, and Mary Miller, VP of Human Resources, were equally as excited to share their experience with a timely topic: Managing in a Virtual World. Julie moderated the panel and Mary spoke on the challenges of managing teams in a virtual environment. Tapping into their years of experience in long-term care insurance operations leadership, this dynamic duo engaged the audience by sharing Fuzion’s success in embracing remote work. Their examples helped illustrate just how successful Fuzion’s management team was in recognizing and engaging associates while remote, resulting in associates who continue to remain productive and satisfied.

Jane Menin Bagley, General Counsel and Chief Fraud Officer, was proud to produce and moderate a session titled “Leveraging Fraud Detection Capabilities”. Fuzion is recognized as a best-in-class solution for fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) mitigation in the LTCi industry. Jane has 30 years of experience in the long-term care industry and led the panel discussion on a variety of FWA topics including the importance of nurturing an internal culture of FWA awareness, and the emerging areas of predictive analytics and the use of digital data in the course of FWA detection and investigation.

The next ILTCI conference will be held March 12-16, 2023 in Denver, Colorado.
