Fuzion is pleased to announce that Jeff Ferrand, its special investigative unit (SIU) program owner, will be hosting a Forum coinciding with the 16th annual Intercompany Long Term Care Insurance (ILTCI) Conference taking place in San Antonio, TX from March 13 to 16. Ferrand will be hosting the 2016 Spring LTCI Claims Anti-Fraud Forum scheduled for 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16 at the Grand Hyatt Riverwalk hotel. The Forum is an inter-company effort focused on the detection and prevention of long term care claims fraud and policy abuse. Discussion topics will focus on trending issues in training, investigation, and technology.

At Fuzion, Ferrand is responsible for overseeing the company’s fraud, waste and abuse mitigation efforts and managing all special investigations. Prior to joining Fuzion, Ferrand spent more than 13 years as an attorney focused on counseling insurers during claims fraud investigations, conducting witness examinations in fraud cases, coordinating investigative activities with law enforcement, and litigating insurance fraud disputes. He is active in local and national anti-fraud initiatives and organizations and currently serves as the national president of the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators.

“Claims fraud and policy abuse continue to be major pain points for those in the long term care insurance industry,” said Ferrand. “This Forum provides a venue in which we can share our experiences and learn new ideas from each other. While we each have our own unique experiences, I am excited to share my knowledge and assist my peers as they continue to grow in today’s evolving health care and digital environments.”

This year’s Forum coinciding with the ILTCI Conference provides attendees a unique opportunity to participate in two of the industry’s leading events at one time. The mission of the ILTCI Conference is to enhance the dialogue between producers, technology and the risks looming in the long term care industry. The Forum will serve as a continuation to the conversations started at the Conference.
